The appreciable editorial career of the Center for Mountain Studies, con el pausado ritmo que proporciona el tiempo, is silently surpassing the hundred and a half monographic editions, en solitario o coeditadas con otras entidades en casos concretos, sin contar en este número las publicaciones seriadas, como los volúmenes de Altamira and from other specialized magazines initially linked to the I.C.C., that add up to another hundred long volumes.

Some historical periods, como el comprendido entre los inicios de la guerra en 1936 y la postguerra hasta 1945 did not generate editions for a cause as direct as the absence of paper, dedicated exclusively to the apparatus of the new State, which thus generated in parallel an effective censorship mechanism during that decade. In other periods the presence of the Montañeses Study Center has been partially overshadowed by other factors of the moment; sometimes, the effects of direct censorship of Franco's regime or, later, the competence of the Cultural Institution of Cantabria, created in the late Franco period of the seventies of the twentieth century, which even went as far as omitting the editorial stamp of the Center for Mountain Studies; only listings publications of different institutes and C.E.M. emitidos por la propia I.C.C. It has allowed us to break down some editions coming from the Center of Mountain Studies in this stage,,es,of social and cultural transition towards current times and qualifiable at some point - being measured,,es de transición social y cultural hacia los tiempos actuales y calificable en algún momento -siendo comedidos- difficult for the Center for Mountain Studies and for several of its most notable members.

Then we include all non-periodical publications generated by the C.E.M. that we have been able to detect, not ruling out the appearance of any more in its editorial have, that if any would add to those presented here. With an average of one volume published per semester in its long history, the editorial work carried out is essential in the historiography of Cantabria and in many thematic aspects of knowledge. The serial editions of the Center for Mountain Studies can be consulted as a complement in the sections Altamira and Newspaper.
